ज़िंदगी में कहाँ हो पाता है लौटना
मगर मुद्दत बाद
लौटा था मैं उस जगह
जिसे वह शहर कहता था
मेरा हाथ गर्मजोशी से थामे
मुस्कुराते हुए उसने कहा था
‘इस बीच चमक गया है शहर
कुछ ईटिंग जवाइंट्स विद कॉक्टेल कॉर्नर्ज़
एक शॉपिंग मॉल सिनेप्लेक्स
अरसे से बैठा वह फ़्लाई ओवर भी
खड़ा हो गया है तनकर..
कुछ पिकनिक स्पॉट हो गए हैं आबाद
और हाँ सड़कों पर कभी-कभार
दिख जाती है होंडा सिटी’
एक साँस खींच जोड़ा था उसने-
एक मंत्री भी है अपने शहर से
सरकार में
तरक़्क़ी की इस तफ़सील में गुम
मैं जानना चाहता था उससे
उन बतखों के बारे में
जो उदास मौसमों में भी
धूप की जुगाली करती
उमगती थीं मेरी तरफ़
मंझोले ताल की सरहदों से
मैं मालूम करना चाहता था
उस पेड़ के बारे में
जो फ़्लाई ओवर के ठीक बग़ल
झूमा करता था हवाओं से लिपट
मैं पता करना चाहता था
उस बच्चे के वाबत
जो अपनी खड़खड़िया सयकिल पर
रोज़ सुबह निकलता था मेरे सामने से
दीनी मदरसे की ओर
टेरता कोई लोकगीत
या फिर शायद
मैं पूछना चाहता था
उस साँवली नदी के बारे में
जो बिजली कारख़ाने के पीछे बहती थी
और मुझे याद दिलाया करती थी
उस लड़की की
जिसे तरक़्क़ी पसंद तारीख़ के तक़ाज़ों ने
छीन लिया था मुझसे
मुद्दतों पहले
पर उसकी मासूम मुस्कुराहट ने
मेरी बेचैन ख़ामोशी को
कुछ और गाढ़ा कर दिया था
मैं उसकी चमकीली आँखों में देखता हुआ
सिर्फ़ इतना ही कह सका था
कि ज़िंदगी में वाक़ई
मुमकिन नहीं होता कभी लौटना।
Dr. Hari Om is an IAS officer of 1997 batch, U.P cadre. Mostly, the administrative officers are known for their intelligence and disciplined lifestyle. He is a PhD in Hindi Literature as well as a celebrated writer, poet and singer. He is a man with golden soul and is polite in nature. His harmonious voice has bewitched all its listeners. He is widely known for being a singer of Faiz in India that in itself is a task. He is gifted with an amazing voice and an exquisite line of thought. His skills have explored wider horizons. Apart from singing, he has written three books in Hindi namely; Dhoop Ka Parcham(a collection of ghazals), Amreeka Meri Jaan(a collection of stories) and Kapas Ke Agle Mausam Mein(a collection of poems). He has also done a noticeable research work “Rethinking the role of IEC in participatory rural sanitation in UP; drawing possible policy lessons from Bangladesh” which has already been published by a German publisher GlobalEdit and the UNICEF, Uttar Pradesh unit. He has won several awards as Firaq Award and Rajbhasha Award for his literary contributions in the field of Hindi.
